| One of our all time favourites with cellar door sales customers, the Unwooded Chardonnay from Cape Jaffa is one of the best examples of its style. Fruit is picked from Padthaway and McLaren Vale. We have found that the blend of these two great regions results in a wine with tropical fruit characters reminiscent of the warmer McLaren Vale fruit, and great structure and natural acid associated with the cooler region of Padthaway. Fruit from each region is whole bunch pressed and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The wine sees no oak. By treating the wine very gently in the winery, we have preserved fresh fruit characters of peaches and melons. The palate has a small amount of residual sugar balanced by crisp acidity. |
