Description
The Limestone Coast is well-equipped for premium grape production with its cool to mild climate and rich terra rossa soils. Typically the vines in this part of South Australia are lower yielding, producing more intensely flavoured and distinctive fruit. 2006 was a relatively dry growing season and temperatures were moderate, allowing us to achieve a perfect balance between varietal characters and ripe fruit, and as such Cape Jaffa’s Southern Reef Shiraz showcases depth of character you would expect from premium Limestone Coast wines. A bouquet of black pepper and dark berry fruits with hints of spicy oak contributes to a rich flavoursome palate displaying great structure and depth. Complex and true to the style, this wine typifies great Limestone Coast shiraz.
