Description
The Cape Jaffa range showcases Mount Benson’s qualities as a premium wine growing region, with fruit source predominantly from our biodynamic vineyards at Cape Jaffa.
The 2007 vintage was warm and dry with lower than average yields, leading to exceptional intensity of flavour and well-balanced fruit characters from our cabernet blocks. A very soft and approachable tannin structure was achieved by fermenting half of the fruit in open concrete tanks. Run into French oak barriques straight after fermentation, it was aged for 18 months. The wine was then fined using egg whites followed by a light filtration prior to bottling.
This classic example of Mount Benson cabernet shoes aromas of dark berry, hints of cassis and spicy oak. Rich with a velvety mouthfeel, this stylish cabernet exhibits soft approachable tannins and great length.
